Final Fantasy XI Basic Information: Part 2


Character Races and Classes
Character Races:
Humes- Your standard Human. Humes are the most well-balanced out characters in Final Fantasy XI. They are average in pretty much everthing they do. They are usually the beginner's choice.
Elvaan- The basic elf. Good with close range hand to hand combat.
Taru Taru- The little gnome-like race. Taru Taru are the smallest of the races. They are excellent magic users, but bad warriors.
Mithra-A cat-like race that is very agile. They are quick to attack, but take off alot less damage than the other races. A good race for thiefs.
Galka-Galka are a large, tough looking race. They are excellent tank warriors. They look like a mix of peopl and beast.

Job Classes:
Black Mage: User of Black Magic.
White Mage: User of White Magic.
Red Mage: User of both Black and White Magic.
Paladin: Holy Knight.
Dark Knight: Dark Knight.
Beast Master: Can control monsters.
Theif: User of Stealing Skills.
Bard: User of Singing Skills.
Summoner: Can call upon powerful/magical/legendary beasts.
Monk: Fist fighter.
Ranger: User of Gun Skills.
Ninja: Japanese spy.
Draggon: User of Lance/Pike/Spear Skills.
Samurai: Japanese warrior.
Emotions
This is a list of the emotions you can do in Final Fantasy XI. Many online games have emotions, but Final Fantasy XI is capable of having facial emotions! All you have to do to do an emotion, is type a forward slash "/" (without quotations) and then the emotion.

/bow: Bow politely to another player
/point: Point at another player
/salute: Salute another player
/kneel: Kneels
/laugh: Laughs
/cry: Weeps
/no: Shake your head negatively.
/nod, /yes: Nod your head positively.
/wave: Waves
/farewell, /goodbye: Wave goodbye.
/welcome: Greet an acquaintance.
/joy: Express your joy
/cheer: Cheers someone
/clap: Claps
/praise: Praise or honour someone
/smile: Smiles
/poke: Pokes someone
/slap: Slaps someone
/stagger: Stagger around
/sigh: Sighs
/comfort: Comfort someone
/surprised: Act surprised
/amaze: Act amazed
/stare: Stare at someone
/blush: Blush at someone
/angry: Be angry
/disgusted, /upset: Sorta the same as angry
/muted: close your mouth in silence
/doze: sleeps
/panic: Run around crazily
/grin: Grins at someone
/dance: Dances
/think: Looks puzzled
/fume: Fume
/doubt: Doubt something
/sulk: Sulk, or be depressed
Communication and Time Differences
Communication:
These are the basic ways of communication in Final Fantasy XI. All of these can be performed by first typing "/" (without quotations) and then the action. Also, there are linkshells, but I will discuss that later.

/Say: Allows all of the people in your area to read what you typed.
/Shout: Allows all players to read what you typed.
/Party: Only people in your party can read what you typed.
/Tell: Only one character can read what you typed.
